caalyx.eu is an independent directory for care at home in Germany. It is for people in need of care and their families looking for a home care service, a day care centre, a home emergency call system or everyday support, and for anyone who wants to understand what German long-term care insurance pays.

What you will find here

• A directory of currently 3,860 providers in Germany's 80 largest cities, with city pages and profiles.
• A care benefits calculator showing each amount with its legal basis and source.
• A guide covering care grades, care allowance, the relief amount, day care, emergency call, fall prevention and choosing a home care service.

Where the data comes from

Basic listings come from publicly available Google Places API data (as of Oct 2026): name, address, phone, website, category and the average rating with count. We do not copy review texts or photos. Results were strictly filtered: only home care services, home intensive care, day care centres, emergency call providers, care advice and everyday support are included. Nursing homes and other residential facilities, hospitals, doctors' practices, pharmacies and medical supply stores are deliberately excluded.

How we assign service types

We derive a listing's service type from its business name or Google listing, for example "Pflegedienst", "Tagespflege" or "Hausnotruf" in the name. For offices of large aid organisations that Google shows for emergency call searches, we state explicitly that you should ask about the local service. We only claim a care contract with the insurance funds, free capacity or a service area if the provider has confirmed it. We do not rate quality.

How we are funded

The basic listing is free. Providers can book a premium package for more visibility. Premium affects the order on city pages, but not the guide content and not the details of other providers. We do not forward enquiries, arrange care or sell contact data.

No individual advice

The guide explains the legal situation in general terms and cites sources. It does not replace care advice from your care insurance fund or a care support centre, medical advice or legal advice.

About this domain

The address caalyx.eu formerly hosted the website of the EU-funded research project CAALYX ("Complete Ambient Assisted Living Experiment", around 2007 to 2009), which dealt with technical assistance for older people. The domain later expired and was re-registered in 2026 by the operator of this website. There is no legal, organisational or editorial connection between this portal and the former project, its partners or funders. The name caalyx is used here only as the portal's name.
